Rally Day...  Please join us for Rally Sunday on September 13 @ 8:45 a.m. for the kick-off of our 2009-2010 Christian Education hour.  We offer education opportunities for ages 4 to 94! Sunday School, Youth Group and Adult Forum meet most Sundays from 8:45 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. with refreshments following in the Narthex.  Come and see what exciting programs we have this Fall.

Oktoberfest...  Be watching for details on the 2009 Oktoberfest.  It will be held on October 17th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Bring the entire family out for a fun evening of German food, music and crafts.

The Essence of Grace...  Seventeen writers, members and friends of Grace Lutheran, have shared their stories about their experiences from Hurricane Katrina in a book published by the congregation.  The Essence of Grace reveals the spirit and characteristics of the New Orleanians who returned home to rebuild their lives, their church, and their community, along with the spirit of the many friends of the Church who turned their hearts toward prayer, their hands toward work and their spirits toward healing.  Click here for more information.

Grace Welcomes Our New Coordinator for Community Development!  Caitlin Moen, from St. Paul, MN, joined our staff on January 6th to work with Pastor Leon and our Saving Grace Ministry. She'll manage our volunteer ministry; work with community agencies and other ELCA congregations in the area of rebuilding social programs that were destroyed as a result of Katrina; and help rebuild our Youth and Young Adult Ministry at Grace. Neighborhood Story Project... Grace has partnered with the Abram Himelstein and the Neighborhood Story Project (www.neighborhoodstoryproject.org) to write our own post-Katrina story of coming back and the grace of God that we have experienced through the body of Christ--that's you!. We are going to publish our stories in a book that is tentatively entitled, "The Essence of Grace." We hope to have the book ready for distribution by the 3rd Anniversary of Katrina, August 29, 2008. Stay tuned for more information on this exciting development.

Transportation Available for Visitors...  If you are visiting New Orleans and would like to worship with us on Sundays at 10 AM, we would be happy to provide transportation to and from your hotel. Rebuilding Grace History... Awesome Delivery... Our congregation recently received a delivery of blessings from two churches in Jamestown, North Dakota.  Click the image at the right to read all about it!

Love of Christ... Our congregation is blessed and amazed at the outpouring of love that we've witnessed since the hurricane.   Most recently, we received special artwork offering a message of love and hope from some of the children of Love of Christ Lutheran Church in Mesa, Arizona.  Click on the picture at the right to see what these precious children had to share.
